TEJVAAN ELITE has a glass-lined inner tank, an 8 bar pressure rating and a 5 year tank warranty. It exists for the two conditions that finish ordinary geysers early: hard water, and the pressure found in high-rise flats or where a booster pump is fitted.
This is the difference that shows up on your bill rather than the spec sheet. In a hard-water area a steel tank needs descaling once or twice every season, at roughly ₹400 to ₹500 a time. A glass-lined tank typically goes two to three years between services. It slows scaling considerably — it does not stop it, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Five years total on the inner tank, not two plus an add-on. The tank is the part that ends a geyser's life, so covering it for five years is a statement about how it is built rather than a marketing number.
Water pressure climbs with every floor, and a booster pump raises it further. A 4 bar tank on the twelfth floor is working near its limit; this one is not. An overpressure safety valve is fitted to relieve pressure before it can damage the tank.
A sacrificial magnesium rod that corrodes so the tank does not, and it is replaceable. The AQUA and AURA are not fitted with one. Combined with the glass lining and the glass-coated element, this is what the extra money actually buys.

Powder-coated steel outer shell. Its job is to protect the insulation and survive a decade in a damp bathroom without rusting through.
The layer that decides your electricity bill. Thicker, denser foam holds heat overnight, so the element switches on less often. Thin insulation is the most common place a cheap geyser saves money.
Glass-coated rather than bare steel, and rated to 8 bar. The lining is what slows scaling: in hard water a steel tank needs descaling once or twice a season, where this typically goes two to three years. It reduces scaling considerably — it does not stop it. The 8 bar rating also means it copes with a booster pump or high-rise supply pressure.
Coated rather than bare, for the same reason as the tank: scale finds it harder to take hold. Scale is what kills elements — it blankets the surface until heat cannot escape and the element cooks itself.
A sacrificial rod that corrodes so the tank does not. It is meant to wear away, and it is replaceable — typically every one to two years depending on how hard your water is. The ELITE is the only model in the range fitted with one.
Two independent devices, deliberately. The thermostat manages normal temperature; the cut-out is a separate safety that trips if the first one ever fails. One failure should never become a hazard.
Fitted on the ELITE to relieve pressure before it can damage the tank — the situation that arises with a booster pump or unusually high supply pressure. A safety device, not a guarantee against every plumbing fault.
A geyser's price is paid once. Its electricity is paid every month for a decade. This works out roughly what yours would add to the bill, using your own tariff.
